ITINERARY

Fri. Aug. 8th – fly from Milwaukee to Washington Dulles Airport for our overnight flight to Johannesburg on South African Airways. Let the journey begin!
Sat. Aug 9th – arrive in Johannesburg. Rest from the trip, dinner and overnight at Afton Guest House to catch our next morning flight to Victoria Falls.
Sun. Aug. 10th – fly to Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe. We will be met at the airport by my friend and our guide, Toga and taken to our hotel A’Zambezi River Lodge. After lunch, we will tour Victoria Falls, one of the seven natural wonders of the world, an absolutely soul-stirring experience. Sundowner cruise on the Zambezi River, followed by dinner at the hotel with traditional African tribal dance entertainment.
Mon. Aug. 11th – we will tour a traditional Zimbabwean village, visit the local primary school, shops, hospital and spend time with Toga’s family at their home. We will also visit a huge open curio market, where you can purchase handcrafted African carvings and other curios at a fraction of the cost you would pay in the U.S. This will be the main opportunity for you to purchase souvenirs and African art. Dinner at the hotel.
Tues. Aug. 12th – after a leisurely breakfast, we will pack and head to the airport for our flight back to Johannesburg, catching a connecting flight to Kimberly. We will be met at the airport by Dean Liprini, www.sacredsites.co.za, who will be our guide for the remainder of the tour. On route to Red Sands, a private game reserve, we will make our initial visit to the Bushmen community to connect with Katombele, the local headman, introduce ourselves to the community at large and prepare for a lengthier return visit. Check into rondovels or self-catering cottages at Red Sands……relaxing, down time for journaling, meditation, reflection, etc. Dinner at Red Sands restaurant.
Wed. Aug. 13th – after breakfast, drive to Kuruman, stopping at the sacred springs called Molopo, the greatest fresh water spring in the southern hemisphere. There is a sacred river that flows underground and is energetically connected to these springs. We will draw water for the day from this sacred spring and imbibe its healing energy. We will have the rare opportunity to visit with Baba Credo Mutwa, South Africa’s most revered Zulu traditional healer and keeper of the indigenous wisdom, along with his wife Virginia, who is also a great sangoma in her own right. We will have an audience with this great African treasure and ask questions and listen to his remarkable wisdom. Lunch with Virginia and Credo. After lunch, we will drive to Wonderwerk Gat, a cave with some of the oldest archeological findings in the world. We will do ceremony at this sacred place and a sunset meditation. Dinner either at a restaurant in Kuruman or back at Red Sands. Complimentary laundry available.
Thurs. Aug. 14th – pack and early breakfast. Drive to Boesmans Gat, which is the womb of the earth mother according to Baba Credo. Here, we will honor the sacred spring, the deepest inland water in Africa. We will do a cleansing ritual in preparation for the gathering later that day and evening with the Bushmen, where we will share a meal with these amazing indigenous people and then participate in the traditional healing/trance dance. This will go as late into the evening as Spirit dictates and has the potential to be quite powerful. Overnight in Kimberly. 

Fri. Aug. 15th – pack and after breakfast, catch a morning flight from Kimberly to Cape Town.Upon arrival in Cape Town, we will head directly to Table Mountain, taking in the breathtaking scenery to the top by cable car. Two hours experiencing the energies atop this sacred mountain and Dean will give us an overview of the masculine and feminine energies in this area and how they intersect in, around, and through this sacred mountain. We will visit the eye of the Table Mountain Goddess for a short meditation aligning ourselves in this powerful portal. Then a leisurely picnic lunch seated on the back of Lion’s Head mountain, experiencing this powerful convergent point of the three different rock types that takes place in this area above the heart of the Lion. From there, we drive along the western seaboard of the Cape Peninsula to the small beach of Lluddudno with its sacred caves and the great mother stone – a ceremonial site of the ancient Koi and San peoples. Here we will do a sounding ceremony and a short meditation. We will then drive along famous scenic Chapman’s Peak mountain pass, passing breathtaking scenery and stopping for a sunset meditation and/or full moon ceremony. Dinner and overnight at Southern Right Hotel, a quaint, English hotel overlooking scenic False Bay, a 2 min. walk to the beach.
Sat. Aug. 16th – following a full English breakfast, we are off to Cape Point and the Cape of Good Hope, the most southwestern tip of Africa and the point of convergence of the two great oceans, Indian and Atlantic. Here we have an opportunity to place our feet in these primal waters feeling the energies of this sacred place. We will then ascend to the lighthouse of Cape Point, where you have a breathtaking, panoramic view of the entire peninsula. We will have a picnic lunch at Cape of Good Hope, then drive back into the city for an experience of the local culture – the Township Tour – African guide Nomtunzi will take us on a walking tour through the township, meeting with traditional healers, local musicians and everyday life for the local people. There will be an opportunity to rest, journal, etc. at the hotel before dinner. Overnight at Southern Right Hotel.
Sun. Aug. 17th – pack and after breakfast, we will drive to Ascension Cave, one of the most powerful sacred sites in the Sun Valley. Here we will have ample time for meditation and sacred ceremony. This is one of the most powerful energetic portals we will visit. We will then head out of Cape Town along the eastern coastline of the peninsula over the mountain, a 90 min. drive en route to the sacred Bushman valley, called Bushman’s Kloof, where we have the opportunity to explore a highly concentrated area of sacred rock art. Explore and stay for sunset with meditation and sounding, sacred fire and ceremony. Traditional African braai (barbeque) for dinner. Overnight in self-catering cottages under the bright star-lit Africa night sky.
Mon. Aug. 18th– pack and early breakfast. This will be a long travel day, a 4 hr. drive to Oudtshoorn to take a walking tour of the sacred Cango caves, containing some of the world’s most magnificent formations of stalactites and stalagmites. These are the biggest underground caves and caverns in South Africa, first experienced by the indigenous San people. We will continue on through the mountains to Keurbooms Beach via the coastal towns of George, Wilderness and Knysna. The Keurbooms River is a part of the great underground river flowing from the Cape in the west 600 km eastward exploding into the Indian Ocean at Cathedral Rock (next day’s tour). We will have dinner and overnight at a spectacular wooden chalet overlooking the ocean with the opportunity to connect with the whales on unspoiled beaches below.
Tues. Aug. 19th – breakfast at Keurbooms Beach, overlooking the ocean. We will then take a beach walk to Cathedral Rock, which is a portal to the dream plane and a powerful energy vortex linking east with west, the cornerstone of Cape Town in the west to the cornerstone of the east. There we will build a fire and snack on mussels and oysters direct from the ocean, connecting with the ancestral spirits at this ancient burial site. We will remain there until early afternoon and then enjoy free time back at our wooden chalet until we make and share our evening meal.
Wed. Aug. 20th– pack and after breakfast, take a 3 hr. drive to the famed Kariega Game Reserve, which contains abundant game viewing, including the Big Five.  A trip to Africa is not complete without the opportunity to experience the African animals up close in the pristine African bushveld.  Our top class accommodations will be in the luxurious Lalibela lodge for our last night in Africa.  There will be an evening game drive followed by a fabulous dinner and relaxing, reflecting on all that we have experienced together.
Thurs. Aug. 21st– early morning game drive followed by breakfast. Pack and depart for our afternoon flight from Port Elizabeth back to Johannesburg to catch our overnight flight back to USA. All too soon, our journey has ended. As our flight takes off, we catch the last glimpse of Africa’s magic. “We have found a piece of Africa and it will never quite let go.”
